BASEMENT was initially developed in the scope of the “Rhone-Thur” project from 2002 to 2007. The Rhone-Thur project was an interdisciplinary venture to allow for better planning, handling and prognostication of river revitalization projects.
The sequel is called “Integrales Flussgebietsmanagement”. It has the same co-financer as its predecessor, namely the Swiss federal office for the environment (FOEN), and basically the same participating institutions (EAWAG, WSL, LCH(EPFL) and VAW(ETHZ), see Partnership). Conclusions and results of the project are presented on the website rivermanagement.ch.
